The Mekong River begins its course in the Himalaya Mountains, runs down through Southern China, goes along Myanmar, between Thailand and Laos, and then cross Cambodia and Vietnam to finally end its course in the South of the China Sea. It is one of the most majestic rivers in Asia and the entire world.

You will follow its course between the Golden Triangle (in Thailand) and the old capital of Luang Prabang (in Laos). 2 days of enchantment, admiring fabulous landscapes in a remote and sparsely populated region. You will travel aboard a wooden boat suitable for the navigation on a turbulent part of the river where whirlpools are many.

A few stops will allow you to discover the daily life of some ethnic villages living on the rivers banks. You will overnight in a lounge with view on the river, and full board is included in this program.

This short program of 2 days and 1 night makes you leave the Golden Triangle very early morning. We therefore have added transfers and pre-night in Chiangrai. It goes without saying that we can also organize your stay in Luang Prabang – Contact us or read the following program…

Pick-up by your English speaking guide at your hotel lobby – Private transfer by a/c vehicle to the Mekong riverbanks – Passage over the Friendship Bridge – Assistance at the Thai-Lao border crossing – Pick-up by the cruise staff – Transfer on board – Beginning of the cruise downstream

Lunch served on board

Afternoon:

Continue the navigation with stops in local villages – Arrival in Pakbeng – Mooring at your hotel pier – Settling in and free time to freshen up

Dinner served in the restaurant lounge, with performance of local ethnic dances

Overnight at Luang Say Lodge – Standard Room

Day 3 Pakbeng - Pak Ou - Luang Prabang (Laos)

Morning:

Continue the navigation down river, with stops to visit villages and to observe spectacular landscapes

Lunch served on board

Afternoon:

Continue the navigation with a stop at the beautiful Pak Ou Cave – Visit the cave and continue the navigation to Luang Prabang pier – Arrival at the pier in mid-afternoon
