Book this individual HALF DAY TOUR from BANGKOK to this unique attraction Located in the outskirts of BANGKOK, unlikely to reach by public transportation, the ‘Ancient City’ is a huge realm gathering about 100 reproductions or reconstructions of some of the most famous historical buildings of THAILAND’s heritage. They are all to the real scale and some old ones were dismantled from their original site and rebuilt here. They are all nicely displayed in the park and were all selected for their particular architectural or artistic qualities. One can admire the reconstruction of a superb riparian hamlet, Chinese pagodas and even the reconstitution of the famous WAT PHRA SI SANPHET from Ayutthaya, before its destruction in 1767. Spread on many acres, the ‘Ancient City’ can be visited by little electric train, bicycle, car or even walking. The site also counts some restaurants on the bank of a river and some charming handicraft shops. The whole compound is absolutely lovely and is certainly worth a visit. It is a superb inventory of Thai architecture heritage.
