This DAY TOUR is a “must see” during your stay in BANGKOK. AYUTTHAYA (about 100 km north of BANGKOK) was the last capital of Siam. Before being sacked by the Burmese army (at the end of the eighteenth century), AYUTTHAYA was a glorious city, the most important in South East Asia. During its Golden Age, (Seventeenth century), AYUTTHAYA had even diplomatic and commercial relations with some important kingdoms like Japan, Portugal or France. Louis the Fourteenth welcomed ambassadors of Siam in Versailles, whilst French envoys settled down in AYUTTHAYA Your private guide and driver we will pick you up at the reception of your hotel in downtown BANGKOK and you will drive up to AYUTTHAYA. You will then visit the ruins of the most important TEMPLES and chedis of the old prestigious city of AYUTTHAYA and will learn a page of Siam history. At lunch time you will stop in a local restaurant on the banks of the river in the old capital. You will be served a buffet style lunch and will continue visiting temples in the afternoon at your own pace, escorted by your professional and private guide.
