DOI SUTHEP… THE GOLDEN CHEDI

This HALF DAY TOUR in northern THAILAND will take you to one of the symbols of CHIANG MAI, one among the jewels of THAI heritage. This highly venerated TEMPLE enshrines a relic of the Lord Buddha. Its golden chedi is merely marvelous and the architecture of the whole compound is unique. The site is nestled amidst lush nature and overlooks the whole city from the Doi (mountain) Suthep. The TEMPLE is accessible by a monumental stairway, decorated by two ‘Nagas’ or by cable car. A little handicraft market at the footsteps, contributes to the happy atmosphere of the holly place, mainly frequented by worshipers and pilgrims.
