TREK TO MAETAENG AREA

Tour code: NS.TH.MT-CNX06
Category: DISCOVERING / SPORT / ADVENTURE / NATURE
Duration: 3 Days – Joining-up Based

Treks in Northern Thailand are very popular among adventure and nature lovers. They provide priceless feelings… Feelings of freedom from human rules… Freedom from big cities promiscuity… Freedom from claustrophobic modern life…And freedom from daily life habits.

One feels so little and so big in the Nature. So little and voiceless, because we are all genetically aware of its might and have no other choice than subject to it. But one feels big as well, for Nature obliges us to defeat our own fears, forces us to go beyond bounds. Therefore, once we come back to town, we all secretly think…’Waw, I did it’.

Nature brings us to the bosom, compels us to an inner journey towards our limits and our strength. Nobody comes back from a trekking without feeling different, like purified, like stronger and calmer… There is no doubt that the Nature is our mother and treks remind us to respect it.

Lucky those having time enough to undertake a ‘minimum 3 days’ trek, since they will have the chance to push deeper in the jungle. But any trek, even a short one, does bring good memories anyway.

A trek is a soft leisure activity accessible to anyone. It is though necessary to be a minimum fit. Jungle is humid, ground can be slippery. Climate can be hot and one has to walk several kilometers in uneasy conditions. It is strongly advised to subscribe a good insurance, for no one is immune from accident. You should prepare yourself to participate and be aware that you will be living in hill tribe villages, with absolutely no commodities at all – You will sleep in common dormitories, on mats. (Blankets and mosquitoes nets are provided). No bathrooms, but a big tank with cold water in a tiny bamboo closet. One will be precisely living like ‘hill tribe villagers’, in the middle of the jungle, miles and miles away from comfort.
