       Khao Sok National Park is probably the most outstanding natural reserve existing in Thailand and one among the most exceptional sites one can visit in all South East Asia. About 65.000.000 years ago, when the Hymmalya was formed, the Malay Peninsula separated itself from the mainland and drifted off southwards, far from ices and cold. Khao Sok and the whole region were thus never affected by glaciations.

This is why it is told that this primeval forest is older than those in America and even the Amazonia for it was never affected by glaciations
The National Park is a huge territory of 739 Sq kilometers, featuring an enormous lake, which is the reservoir of a dam (created in the years 1980), superb mountains, tropical rainforest and absolutely fabulous landscapes with breathtaking sceneries.
Minimum 2 full days are needed to discover the whole region, divided in 2 main attractions: The Lake (Chiao Lan Reservoir) and the National Park itself, sheltering the worldwide famous Rafflesia (biggest flour on earth).
One can of course observe wildlife as gibbons, tapirs, plenty of birds, including the hornbill and if very lucky one could even watch wild elephants, leopards and other mammals. Additional activities as tubing, canoeing, elephant riding, can also be done.
A visit to Khao Sok is a real must for nature lovers. Infrastructure is somehow basic in the whole region, which is for sure a good sign of authenticity and preservation. 

PROGRAM

DAY: 1 (Departure everyday)

Meals: DINNER
- XX:XX: Pick-up by your driver at Phuket airport (whatever arrival time is) and private transfer straight to the resort in Khao Sok – Rest of the day at leisure, optional activities can be organized, following your arrival time. 
- 19:30: (approximately) Dinner is served in your hotel – Overnight
 
 

DAY 2 

MEALS: BREAKFAST / LUNCH/ DINNER
Hearty breakfast in the hotel. 
- 08:30: Your escorting guide will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel and will escort you to the banks of the lake. You will embark on a long tailed boat and will cross part of the lake. You will be mesmerized by the breathtaking ‘grandeur’ of the nature. A lunch is served in a local restaurant followed by a period of relax. You will swim in the lake or kayak on its placid water. Later on in the afternoon, you will go for a 2nd round of navigation back to the pier. You will then be transferred back to your hotel, where you will arrive by end of the afternoon.
- 19:30: (approximately) Dinner is served in your hotel – Overnight

DAY 3 

MEALS: BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER
Hearty breakfast in the hotel. 
- 08:30: Your escorting guide will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel and will escort you to the territory of the National Park. You will spend the whole day in the park, watching plants, animals, birds, insects, etc… During the period November up to February (some exceptional years even up to April) you will observe the biggest flour on earth, the ‘Raflesia Arnoldi’ that can be seen in very few regions of the world – You will have your lunch as picnic in the park and will end this trek by end afternoon – Transfer back to your hotel
- 19:30: (approximately) Dinner is served in your hotel – Overnight

DAY 4 

MEALS: BREAKFAST / LUNCH
Hearty breakfast in the hotel. 
- 08:30: You will spend the whole morning in the hotel and enjoy the swimming pool or relaxing in the garden, or eventually book an optional excursion (Canoeing or Elephant riding) to complete your stay in this superb region of Thailand
- 12h30: Lunch is served in the resort
- 13h30: Transfert by private car without guide, either to Phuket Airport / any hotel on Phuket Island or to Surat-Thani town (for our guests going to Samui by ferry)
