FROM NATURE TO ADVENTURE

This 8-day package combines the destinations of Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the famous River Kwai.

 

Experience the busy atmosphere of Bangkok, followed by a stay in one of the greenest regions of the country, close to the jungle along the River Kwai.

 

Travel to the northern capital Chiang Mai by night train and enjoy the charming city before exploring the green and unspoilt jungle on a 3-day trek.

 

This excellent soft immersion into the Thai jungle is a good blend of nature and adventure. This program has been cautiously tailor made to match Nature friends’ expectations, offering full safety for the cheapest possible rate with a touch of comfort both in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

DAY 1

- Meet and greet at your arrival in Bangkok airport by your English speaking guide & Transfer to your hotel by public Airport Link
 
- Get off at 'Ratchaprarop' Station, only 200m from your hotel
 
- Check-in and rest of the day at leisure (program of optional visits possible on request)
 
- Evening at leisure

DAY 2

- Breakfast at the hotel

 

- Pick-up by your guide in the lobby

 

- Whole day exploring Koh Kred Island (in the middle of the Chao Phaya River)

 

- Bike around the island and discover the Mon ethnic community and their pottery production

 

- You will organize your lunch according to your appetite and your budget (your guide will help you)

 

- Return to the hotel by the end of the day

 

- Evening at leisure to relax or explore Bangkok own your own

DAY 3

- Breakfast at the hotel

 

- Early departure (6am) by collective tour bus to Kanchanaburi

 

- Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Center (interactive museum)

 

- Visit one of the empressive War cemeteries

 

- See and walk over the famous 'Bridge over the River Kwai' (built by prisoners of war in WWII)

 

- Arrival at the 'River Kwai Jungle Rafts' and check-in

 

- Lunch at the Jungle Rafts

 

- Journey to the Resotel by longtail boat

 

- See the 'Hellfire Pass Memorial'

 

- Return to the Jungle Rafts & Dinner

 

- 45min Mon Dance show

 

- Overnight

  


 

DAY 4

- Breakfast at the hotel

 

- Visit the Mon ethnic community village nearby and see the Elephants

  (optional Elephant riding can be arrangend)

 

- Check-out and departure to the 'River Kwai Resotel' hotel for Lunch

 

- Short but stunning ride on the Death Railway Train

 

- Retun to Bangkok where you will arrive by the end of the afternoon

 

- Transfer to Hua Lampong railway station

 

- 19:40 Departure to Chiang Mai by night train (2nd class sleeping cabin)

 

- Overnight on the train

 
  

 

DAY 5

- Morning arrival in Chiang Mai & transfer to your hotel

 

- Check-in and full day at leisure

 

- Meeting with your guide around 6pm & Briefing about the trek (Question and answer session)

DAY 6

- Breakfast at the hotel

 

- Pick-up by your guide and departure to Huay Nam Dung national park (by truck or jeep)

 

- Stop at the local market of Mae Malai - meet the locals and by some food for lunch

 

- Stop at a waterfall along the way

 

- Lunch and bath in fresh water

 

- Journey to Huay Nam Dung on a windy road

 

- Arrival in the hill tribe village of the 'Shan' ethnic group

 

- 2-hour jungle trek to another village ('Karen' ethnic group)

 

- Arrival in the 'Baan Mae Jok' hilltribe village & time to discover the place

 

- Dinner

 

- Overnight

  


 

DAY 7

- Breakfast in the village

 

- 3-hour trek towards en Elephant Camp

  (along this way, you can really apreciate nature and the Thai jungle at its best)

 

- Arrival at the Elephant camp & Lunch

 

- Aprox. 2-hour Elephant ride through dense green jungle

 

- Arrival at the 'Baan Pa Khaolam' village

 

- Dinner (afterwards, all participants sit together and chat and laugh during a candle-light evening)

 

- Overnight

 

 
  

 

DAY 8

- Breakfast in the middle of the jungle

 

- 2-hour smooth rafting journey to a 'Lahu' village (stop at 'Karen' village along the way)

 

- Another 2-hour rafting journey down a river full of rapids to a 'Shan' village

 

- Lunch at the 'Shan' village

 

- Journey back to Chiang Mai by truck or jeep

 

- Late afternoon arrival in Chiang Mai and drop-off at your hotel, the railway station or airport

 

- From this point onwards you can continue the trip by yourself or we can arrange the end of your trip as follows:

 

- Additional visits and overnights in the province of Chiang Mai

- A direct flight down to southern Thailand and it's unique islands and beaches

- A connection to Bangkok either by direct flight or by overnight train (sleeping cabin)
