RIVER KWAI - JUNGLE, TIGERS AND ELEPHANTS

This private tour takes you to the area of Kanchanaburi in western Thailand. The tour itinerary is a well-balanced combination of outstanding discoveries and soft adventures along the famous River Kwai and its green and well-preserved environment.
Besides the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak, you will follow the tracks of WWII prisoners (Pacific War) who were forced to build a railway in the deep jungle, connecting Thailand to Burma. The ‘Hell Fire Pass’ and the bridge over the River Kwai are vivid testimonies of this historical episode.
You will be living in harmony with nature and experience activities with animals that are icons of the Thai fauna… How about taking a bath with an elephant or hugging a tiger?
Above all, this tour is focused on appreciating unspoiled natural beauty of the region. You will stay in carefully selected hotels/lodges and will be accompanied by one of our professional English speaking guides.

DAY 1

Meals: - / L / D
    
- Early departure (7am) from your hotel in Bangkok with your guide and A/C vehicle
- Visit the floating market of Damnoen Saduak
- Halt in Kanchanaburi and Bridge over the River Kwai (Lunch)
 
- Visit the ‘Center of the Railway Thai-Burma’ and stop at one War Memorial
 
- Late afternoon arrival at the ‘Hintok River Camp’ (Dinner and Overnight)
 
 
DAY 2
Meals: B / L / D
         
- Optional visit to a Buddhist temple to offer food alms to monks
- Breakfast at the camp
- Visit of the Erawan National park (7 Waterfalls)
- Lunch-break and refreshing bath in the National Park
- Program with elephants (ride and bath an elephant)
- Sunset dinner at Elephant Farm
- Overnight at the famous River Kwai Resotel
 
DAY 3
Meals: B / L / D 
- Breakfast at River Kwai Resotel
- Visit the historical ‘Hell Fire Pass’ (part of the Death Railway)
- Lunch at a local restaurant
- Afternoon at Tigers’ Temple (get comfortable with real tigers in a Buddhist Temple)
- Dinner & Overnight at The Float House on the banks of the River Kwai
 
DAY 4
Meals: B / L / -
          
- Breakfast at The Float House
- Sail up the river by long tail boat
 
- Visit Môn ethnic community village (originally coming from Burma)
 
- Lunch at a local restaurant
 
- Train-ride on the old tracks of the ‘Death Railway Train’ through the jungle
 
- Visit the highest Buddhist Chedi (shrine) of southern Asia in Nakhon Pathom
 
- Drop off at your hotel in Bangkok around late afternoon/early evening
