OVER VIEW

Unique and unforgettable experience made of Thai jungle discovery and stay on the banks of famous River Kwai. This tour is a subtle blend of adventure, history and nature.
NS.TRAVEL brings you on the tracks of WWII prisoners (Pacific war). You will discover among others, the famous ‘Bridge over River Kwai’ and the impressive ‘Hell Fire Pass’ (Mountain cut by prisoners to lay down the railway tracks up to Myanmar)
Besides remains of last world war, you will see huge bamboo forests, limestone cliffs edging the turns and twists of the famous river Kwai, ethnic minorities, elephants or beautiful national parks sheltering superb waterfalls. Finally, you will appreciate the incomparable happiness of living in harmony with a wild and marvelous nature.

PROGRAMS
DAY: 1 (Departure everyday)
Meals: LUNCH/ DINNER

- 06.00: Pick up by English speaking guide in most hotels in Bangkok downtown area and departure by air-conditioned vehicle to Kanchanaburi.
- 09.00: First stop in Kanchanaburi for a very interesting visit at the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre. This interactive museum is a remarkable research & information centre, dedicated to the story of the Thailand-Burma Railway. Visit one of the impressive War Cemeteries, where many of allied soldiers were buried. Then visit the worldwide known ‘Bridge over River Kwai’. It was built in about 16 months, by allied prisoners of war and Asian conscripts. The bridge was afterwards destroyed during allied bombing raids, by the end of World War II. But it was later rebuilt by Japanese, as war reparations.
- 12.00: The journey continues further away till Arriving at Hin Tok Tented Camp. After you check-in, a lunch will be served.

- 14.00: Departure for the Hell Fire Pass Memorial followed by a soft trek along the Death Railway tracks, from Hell Fire Pass to Hin Tok Station. Stony mountains were cut by prisoners of war in this inhospitable jungle, to lay tracks of the Death Railway. Then continue to Tented Camp.
Late afternoon get on a mountain bike for a visit to a village or next to the camp. There you can experience basket weaving.
- 19.00: Dinner and overnight at Hin Tok Tented Camp.

 

 

DAY 2:
MEALS: BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER

- 06.00: Early morning (optional) departure to the temple close. You can take part of alms giving to monks and so, gaining merits (according to Thai tradition).
- 07.00: Hearty American Breakfast.
- 09.00: Check-out and departure by long tailed boat downstream to a MON ethnic village – stop to visit the village – Afterwards continue sailing downstream to pier of ‘River Kwai Resotel’ – stop and disembark for lunch.

- 13h00: You will enjoy some hours of leisure at the swimming pool of the resort or can hire a mountain bike and discover the surroundings. You can also hire a canoe and discover the river (both activities are optional and not included)
- 19h30: Dinner at the resort followed by a show (Mon dances) – Overnight

 

DAY 3:
MEALS: BREAKFAST / LUNCH

- 07.00: Hearty American Breakfast.
- 11h30: Check-out from Resotel and transfer to the pier - Lunch
- 13.00: Departure for a short but stunning journey on the Death Railway Train, using the track overhanging the River Kwai on the old wooden viaduct.
- 14.20: Journey by air-conditioned vehicle back to Bangkok.
- 18.00: Arrival in Bangkok and transfer to hotels.
- End of program
