The most majestic illustration of the RAMAKIEN (Thai version of the prestigious Indian epic RAMAYANA) is painted on the walls of the cloister in the Emerald Buddha Temple.
It is regarded by some like a model. However, this very subtle form of Art can diverge from strict and traditional style, and according to interpretations can be completely different from the strict models.

This is what you will see during this excursion. First stop in a very traditional temple where paintings are rather traditional but interpretation of hell reminds indubitably Hieronymus Bosch’s paintings.

Then you will go to a rather unusual temple which was decorated by an Italian artist. The very figurative representations evoke rather allegoric opera decoration than the Siamese codified paintings.

Finally you will admire modern murals, illustrating Bangkok old days’ life on a naïve way. Thousand of common characters busy in their daily activities, instead of celestial beings, angels or mythological gods.
