Pattaya is worldwide known for being a famous beach and entertainment destination. It was namely the first ‘city beach’ in Thailand to be promoted since the early 80’s. It has since grown impressively and is nowadays a big city.

Pattaya enjoys mainly a reputation of ‘entertainment’ due to the many bars, clubs and discos spread in specific entertainment areas of the city. But Pattaya is not limited to entertainment and some of possible activities in Pattaya are highly cultural.

Nong Nooch is one of the most vivid symbols of the cultural life of Pattaya. This huge 562 acres realm is a superb sanctum of natural beauty. In 1954, Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha bought a 600 acres land between Pattaya and Satahip, in order to start a fruit plantation in this fertile valley.

Ms Nongooch decided afterwards to turn the dominium in a botanical conservation center. Today the realm hosts one among the most beautiful botanical parks of Asia, featuring huge thematic gardens superbly groomed as well as a unique collection of tree essences and big plants’ nurseries. It hosts as well a resort with swimming pool, a convention centre, restaurants, attractions, etc.

This superbly organized realm deserves certainly a full day visit. It can be discovered by electric tramway or simply walking through. It has a net of hanging bridges overlooking part of the park. Every day a cultural show (panorama of Thai culture, habits and history) as well as an elephant show are performed. Nong Nooch is a unique place for parents or children likewise, which is absolutely worth to discover.
